Novena to the Holy Spirit

The novena to the Holy Spirit begins next Friday, May 15th, the day after Ascension Thursday. This novena is the very first novena ever prayed by the Church– by Mary and the apostles themselves!  They and the others that were in the Upper Room with them were waiting and praying wholeheartedly for NINE days for the coming of the Holy Spirit, as Our Lord had promised as He ascended into Heaven.

May Crowning

The month of May is dedicated to Our Blessed Mother. To show our love of her it is traditional to crown the statues of Mary in the church and in the home with floral crowns. Our first Holy Communicants will lead us in the crowning of our 2 statues after the 5pm mass this Saturday, May 9th. There will be a short procession with singing from the nave to our Mary garden along the driveway of the church.  Please join in this lovely tradition!

SS. Mary and Martha Altar Guild

The altar guild will meet next week, Friday May 15th from 2:30pm to 4:30pm to make simple handkerchief-style head coverings. Come make a veil for yourself or a loved one. A sign-up will follow in a separate email with details on what to bring or please contact Jessica Mammi if you are interested in attending.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Christine, Dominic, Kathryn, Sybil, Ronan, and Liam on their First Holy Communion! Many thanks to Amy Provencher and Lorna Wanner for organizing such a beautiful and fitting celebration of this most special day!

Please keep the Mammi family in your prayers as Anastasia's First Holy Communion approaches in June.

Contact Vicki Borin for more details or with any question.
